Our Featured Rescues
Here is a list of the most recent horses we have rescued and their stories. Many of them will go on to live healthy full lives because of the amazing and generous contributions by our volunteers and the donations received by individuals like you.
Jester April 27, 2018
This beautiful boy’s name is Jester. He is a 8 year old gelding thoroughbred cross. Acquired from a rescue-to-rescue transfer. 15 hands tall. He needs some finish saddle training and then ready for that special new home that needs a gentle, sweet companion.
Aspen April 25, 2018
This is Aspen, a stunning white Arab mare. We obtained this sweet nine year old from another rescue in a rescue-to-rescue transfer. She had a serious injury to her mouth that was having difficulty healing and needed focused intensive treatment. She was also highly reactive in the frenetic environment of the previous busy shelter. We successfully treated the infection and over time with patience and careful training, she has become a sweet lady, ready for a new home to the right person.
Liberty April 24, 2018
This is a Bureau of Land Management seven year old Palomino Mustang, named Liberty. She was acquired after being returned to BLM by her first adopter for being lame due to the severe injury she sustained years ago, visible on her right rear flank. She was exceedingly fearful of humans and it took a full year to gain her trust. During that time she was evaluated by our Veterinarian including X-rays which showed some bone remodeling in her left front fetlock joint. Stall rest and mild exercise over the year has done wonders in restoring her gait and she appears to now be sound and healthy. She has gained trust in her handler and training is continuing to hopefully result in a great western pleasure horse.
